L’inserto (qui la versione pdf per il download) estende i temi che in questi mesi uqbar ha cercato di mettere in evidenza attorno al concetto di media at culture; IDIOMA è il focus dell’inserto, vengono presentati alcuni lavori e progetti che attraverso l’uso dei media stanno dando luogo a nuovi linguaggi espressivi: uqbar. media art culture, Arena; Giuseppe Stampone, arte globale - progetto connettivo; Velazquez Bonetto - the carp; Fabio Fornasari, La torre di Asian – Romanzo collettivo.

LUMINESCENCE

In Episode 42, we visit the Second Life archive of artwork by Lynn Hershman Leeson. We also bring LHL’s SL collaborator Jeff Aldrich back with us to the BIW sim to discuss several of the very interesting artworks there. We discover that one member of the panel dreams of being Mary Poppins, we discover that Jay knows the lyirics to Beattles songs, Stephanie Rothenberg returns, we debate weather art that claims not to be might still be and Patrick finds a geometric abstraction that he likes. Second Life e Cyberlandia Live a MediaCamp Roma oggi!

Intervento live da Second Life di Shellina Winkler, che incontrerà Asia Connell nello spazio virtuale di SL per parlare di arte collaborativa a Burning Life, la versione digitale del mitico festival del Burning Man (e condividere con noi un quick how-to su come manipolare i PRIM e le diverse tipologie di PRIM disponibili in Second Life).
Intervento di Rumegusc Altamura e Carlos Roundel di Cyberlandia. Rumegusc (è il nome dell’avatar di Caterina) incontrerà Carlos su Cyberlandia, il mondo virtuale italiano in 3D dove, con la scusa di costruire un nuovo pezzo del progetto virtuale di Rumegusc, i due avatar ci condurranno all’esplorazione delle dinamiche e filosofie open source che caratterizzano il metaverso italiano 3D, e ci spiegheranno quali sono le differenze (poche ma sostanziali) tra Cyberlandia e Second Life.

This exhibit opens at 11:30 a.m. SLT on Sunday, November the 16th and brings to you numerous works of art with a wide variety of unique Second Life art, including several one-of- a- kind pieces from various artists. The Museum is an amazing work of architectural art created by NMC’s CJ Carnot. When settings are turned to midnight, you will notice the subtle changes in hues on the building, and will be awestruck by the beauty and design.
This month three artists will be showcased on the second floor of the museum.

The featured artists include French artist, vroum Short as well as Italian artist’s Shellina Winkler and Solkide Auer.
